Lesson Plan
1. Discuss with the students how they use email, if at all. Discuss how people in general use email for personal and business reasons.
2. Define etiquette/netiquette as a class.
3. Students will work as a group of 3 and review the following websites on how to write a formal email to their teachers. Students will take notes for 10 email netiquette tips.

4. Students will create a Popplet as a group titled “Email Netiquette Tips”. The center popple will be the title of the Popplet. Students will collaborate on the popplet and each write a minimum of 3 tips each for a total of 10 (including the popple from the teacher’s sample popplet). Students will email the teacher the link to their popplet writing a formal email that includes the full names of the group members in the body of the email. Students may will each print the popplet to keep in their folders for easy reference.

5. Students will then go to the We Are Teachers Email Etiquette Web site. They will individually download and save the student handouts by naming the Word doc by the following:
